Analysis of Tweets Related with Physical Activity During COVID-19 Outbreak

Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic affected the daily lifestyle and habits around worldwide. Besides impact of coronavirus on social life canceling gyms limited physical activity exercise. aim this study was to analysis tweet numbers attitudes related with during regarding timeline Turkey outbreak. Methods: Twitter query performed in Turkish tweets between 1st January 14th May 2020 including keywords “exercise” or “physical activity” “fitness” “plates” “gymnastics” “inactive”. Collected data sent Google cloud natural language API for estimation sentiment score. Tweets assigned as non-COVID period (1st Jan-14th Mar; n=74 days) COVID (14th Mar-14th May; n=61 according prognosis Turkey. Results: number both positive negative sentiments score significantly increased comparison period. There a significant decreased scores when compared however, period, no differences found forced isolation days non-forced days. Discussion: These results suggest that people had more leisure time realized importance being active healthy lockdown then exercises posted often. Current findings also showed media is platform promoting exercise via peoples’ necessity share get interaction.
